Bought a Photon from Cowboom with screen issues.

So I finally received the Photon I ordered from last weeks Cowboom deal. I was supposed to be receiving a condition 5 phone, but to my surprise the exterior/screen looked nearly brand new. Boy was I relieved. Until I went to turn it on and found this. Now what?

Returned. I find it hard to believe Cowboom didn't turn the device on even once and notice the screen failure. What a waste of time.

Cowboom has offered to ship me out a replacement in better condition with expedited shipping. My only concern is, if this display goes bad often on Photos? As I would not like to be stuck with this kind of issue outside of my 30 day return period? I've searched and found only a handful of complaints so I'm hoping it is not a common issue.

Keep in mind, you get what you pay for, so there's always going to be that possibility that something is wrong that wasn't caught. It is surprising to a certain extent because Cowboom (from the way I understand it) is a Best Buy owned site and a lot of the products they sell are recycled from returns or "buy back" products.

That said, how many times did you try to restart the phone? Did you only try it once or several times?

I tried many times, as well as left the battery out for 30 mins. Still the same result every time. Even IF the screen scramble went away after a few tries. It mostly def would still be on its way back to Cowboom.

Just checking. Hopefully, Cowboom is pretty quick about their sending you a replacement.

Cowboom made due on their mistake, and send me a condition 7 photon which arrived today in practically new condition. Phone so far is great. I will be holding on to this phone for a few months while I wait out the reveal of the next photon, GS3, or galaxy note.

Nice. Good stuff. It's good to know that Cowboom made good on the exchange and that it gave you a quality product.

I'm keeping that in mind for the future.
