Help Broke phone with build.prop!

Help! On my samsung galaxy y gts5363, I edited the build prop to make my phone think its a Samsung galaxy s3. But now it does not open any apos and displays the message "application stopped unexpectedly". All my apps are useless apart from texting and calling. I edited the build.prop with an app, but now I can't open the app to edit it again. Also I've tried accessing it on a pc, but I can't find it.

Please help!

I dont know how to reinstall the stock firmware
What region you in?

You can use Kies or Odin to re-flash the stock firmware.
Make sure your device have at least 80% battery power. [How to Check Battery Percentage in Android Device]
You already have USB Driver Installed for Galaxy Y in your PC. If not then you should download and install Kies from Samsung website.
Make sure USB Debugging is enabled. [Guide]

Well, I guess its not going to work because when I connect my phone to my pc, it just charges and I can't connect to kies. I have USB debugging disabled. Any ideas how to fix this. I have windows 8. :(

Shouldn't Debugging have been enabled using Kies?
Was that a typo Alex?
(although the Odin guide doesn't mention Debugging)
It's been so long since I used Odin lol (i guess Debugging isn't necessary in download mode?)

Will odin work if my phone cant connect to my pc as a media device because when I plug it in it just charges and I cant access files. Thanks for all the help btw. Also, it says my device mustn't be rooted, but mine is, and I cant open any apps to allow me to unroot.

Turn on USB Debugging. And you've nothing to lose by trying I guess... Ive used Odin to flash a rooted phone back to stock and it was fine but it's your own risk.
And I don't think you want it to be recognised as a media device but we need a Samsung expert to confirm that

Sorry I'm late to this thread, but if your phone is rooted and you have USB debugging turned on and your adb connectivity works, updating the build.prop file back to the original should be straightforward (i.e., at least putting the setting you changed back to it's original value).

I tried using Odin, but i cant download the firmware because all download links send me to a website that i cant view in my country (UK).

Are you sure the firmware you downloaded exactly matched your model number? The code, not just the phone's name? (gts.........)
