Help can't mount SD card via USB

this problem starts after I accidentally formatted system dir in xRecovery menu. then I flash my phone using x10 flash tool with X8 Shakira E15i_2.1.1.A.0.6_generic.ftf (Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!) <<< got this from XDA. then I noticed it change my baseband to ...06. so I downloaded racht's baseband, and re flash my phone with the ...15 baseband. then I root my phone, and rolled back to my 1st xRecovery backup, which is a backup after manage to get xRecovery installed. after that the problem occurs. even after I choose "Connect Your Phone" at the dropdown menu, it never mount my SD card to PC. any help will be appreciated. thank you.

Firstly, don't worry about the flashing your phone so many times. It will not affect your phone's performance. It is the ROM causing the problem.

If you are using racht's CM7RC4 there are reports that usb not working when connected to PC.

usb not detecting SD Card <-- have a look here post #1912 by racht

racht has fixed it this morning (4 April 2011 update). So if you are using the old CM7RC4 ROM (3 April 2011) in your xRecovery/backup folder you will not be able to mount your SD card via usb.

If you want to use the CM7RC4 ROM you can download it now and flash again.

In any case, I always recommend you (i) xRecovery/factory wipe & (ii) SD card format before you install new ROM.

just to comfirm with u....
u recommended to format sd card before install new rom....
i) can i format it with pc or with phone?
ii) after format it, i must re-root my x8, install xrecovery and then install new rom?

Hi,

Every situation is different. For HaN6787's case the phone has been re-flashed with X10 Flash Tool. Baseband 015, root and xRecovery installed.

So it depends on what you have done to your Xperia X8 phone.

If you have updated with PC Companion or SEUS... you have to start from zero.

now i'm running floyo from xda but always reboot and drain my battery..
is it because i'm not formatting my sd before install new rom....

and now i'm glad to try 2.3.3. do i need to format my sd or start from zero...

Hi,

It is not necessary to reformat if you have only one partition.
You just need to <xRecovery><factory reset wipe> your phone
and <settings><privacy><Factory data reset> after you setup your 2.3.3 ROM to wipe your 2.2.1 Floyo data

already install cm7rc4 rom....
but

wifi error... is it just me or any other user have it?
select <application><install location><automatic> but all application save at internal memory...just try few app
cant move application to sd card.. try sygic aura n applenet


but very fast.....
 
Hi...

Already try 2.3.3.CM.X8.J005 yesterday... very stable rom.. no restart at all...
But missing my favorite app.... sygic aura!
