Help car navigation issue

i've got my partner's desire hd and he's got mine coz his battery is flat. His phone never lasts a full day on a full charge and i've noticed that every now again, car navigation just pops up and lights up the screen. I think this might be draining his battery. I've been through the settings and there's nothing on there that tells me why it is doing this. As far as i can tell my partner has never even used this app before. Any ideas? Ta x

did you look in battery usage and sync
if its not showing there then open the navigation and exit it properly by pressing menu and then exit navigation, hope this helps
