Cases Case selections, my thoughts

After having this Z Fold 4 for a while now, I am really glad that I bought the case that I did. I was initially not happy with it but I came around on my thinking. I bought a style of case that protects the hinge point externally. Many do not cover this area. I recommend it firstly for the obvious, and that is protection of the side of the phone where the hinge is. If you buy a case that leaves this unprotected, I think that it is a rule of the universe that the first time you drop it, it will hit that edge! The other and not so obvious reason is that most, if not all of these cases with hinge protection by design cause the cover for the hinge to protrude from the back of the case when open. This is what I did not like at first, until I started to realize that this protrusion gives you a perfect place to grab the phone when open, instead of having to grasp the full width of it

I really like it when I initially do not like something and then come to understand it and then like it after all.

Me too, I will likely never buy the pen but love the grip the hinge protector gives that would hold one. This one that I bought seems like it wants to pop loose at the top hinge. I may not have it snapped in properly...which one did you buy?

there are better ones than those for the z fold 4. i tried something similar but they were way to plasticy and felt really cheap. and yes the hinge protector was very loose and flimsy.

Spigen Slim Armor Pro (Hinge Protection)

its not cheap, but i love there cases. plus if you plan pn keeping this thing for a very long time, this case will last you the lifetime of the phone. been using spigen for all of my cases, since the note 7.
