Help Change a Contact from "Phone" to "Google"

I had to revert back to my older S5 this week when my Note 4 died in the heat of the afternoon sun.....
a fix for that is underway.........

but, for right now, I have discovered that a lot of my Contacts are listed on the S5 as "Phone" only, and not registered with "Google".

I have been trying to figure out a way to change that, but so far, have not got the job done.
I don't want to duplicate all of the Phone contacts just so that I can force them to my Google Account.

Any hints out there?

Export, then import as google. Delete the phone contacts.
