Comprehensive list of known issues?

After 2.1 update phone is still flashing on/off at times. Screen comes on in lock mode then turns off. This happens to me a couple times a day for about 15-30 minutes. The flashes can happen somewhere between 5 and 10 secs apart, sometimes longer.

Not a huge issue, but a battery drain for sure and extremely annoying when the phone is sitting beside me on the desk.
 
Hey guys. I've been lurking here since I got my Moment in February, and since the 2.1 update, I've been having a couple problems.

1. Battery life was great after CL14, but has gotten pretty bad since 2.1. I used to be able to get 12+ hours out of my phone, no problem. Now, I'm lucky if I'm pushing 8. I use ATK before I put the phone to sleep.

2. My virtual keyboard lags like crazy. If I press a text field, sometimes it just doesn't come up, so I have to go to the previous page (this happens in messaging, as well), then back to get the keyboard to work.

3. Airplane Mode problem has returned. I hadn't had it after CL14, but it's happened twice in the past week.
 
I've looked through a ton of posts but haven't seen this yet. I'm actually a tech and had a customer come in with her contacts merging themselves in just her phone. They had similar names... Peg and Peggie, and when you would go to view the entire contact info would show them as 2 different entries (hard to explain that part). I looked at her contacts in her Gmail account and they were still separate. I even mimicked this issue on my Moment, added a "joe" and a "joey" and after adding them they were merged together under Joey.

Anyone else seen this? The only workaround I came up with was to add some last names or something to differentiate them a bit more.
 
I had an interesting issue the other day with my Moment.

I havent been able to reproduce it yet, but something caused the proximity sensor to stay on, it was a bit annoying as every time I would try and pull down the notification bar the screen would black out. Had to reboot the phone to get it to go away.

Oh a side note, the random calling when using the call button will occur with people with only one number as well. At least with some of my single number contacts. Not all of them.
 
My phone sure does like to stay on. If I end a phone call, i have to press End another 2-3 times to get the damn thing to stay off. It just keeps popping back to the lock screen. Also happens if I hit end and then try to shut the keyboard. It turns back on again, have to hit End again.

I answered the phone with the handsfree that comes with it the other day, phone in pocket, and hung up to discover my thigh had turned on the flashlight and started Pandora. WHY WOULD THE SCREEN TURN ON WHEN I'M USING THE HANDS-FREE AND WHEN ITS IN A DARK POCKET ANYWAY?!
 
I've noticed battery live plummet quite a bit since the update. The signal bars keep flashing from 0-1 bar up to full bars for no apparent reason. With minimal use, I sometimes have to plug my phone in at work near the end of the day.
 
I had airplane mode before update and some freezes. Tried to return phone and was talked into update. After update at Sprint, walked to parking lot, tried to dial first call and it was in AIRPLANE MODE Again. Took it in for another 10 minutes with the tech. fixed.

Got to Kroger and tried to turn on bluetooth (already set in car). Phone would not find the Prius but it found every bluetooth device around. Called Sprint and they tried to walk me thru and no dice. All of a sudden the phone showed "handsfree" and I tried to connect, no dice. Sprint tech was dumbfounded. Just as I was about to give up phone found the car. This took one hour.

Got home and tried to go to google, and the window opened and then immediately shut down. It would not work.

Then phone started freezing during phone calls.

I took it back yesterday under my 30 day deadline and bought an old katana on Craigslist for $15. Sprint store tech said the phone must have radio issues as well as software issues??

I liked the phone when it was working, I did not install a bunch of apps, and I miss the net and ease of texting. What the hell happened to google window?

I may wait to see evo or if a new phone comes out in a few weeks. I wonder why some moments have these issues and others are great.
 
Moment is one month old today, coming off of two years with a Sammy instinct, piece of S..T,, updated to 2.1... installed dolphin HD, love it !!! Sammy outsourced to N Korea :) You think??
 
My Moment is now two months old. I hadn't used the Sprint Navigation until after the official 2.1 update.

I've used it twice now on 50 mile trips. On both trips, the phone lost the gps signal after roughly twenty minutes.

The only way to get the GPS back up and running was to reboot the phone. Which brings up another complaint, anyone else notice that with 2.1, booting up the phone takes a lot longer now? I haven't timed it exactly, but I'd say my phone takes between five and ten minutes just to boot up.

I did try the trick to change this setting...
"Use wireless networks OFF and Use GPS satellites ON"

That did not work at all.

I want to take my phone in and see if a different phone would fix the problem. But then I'd probably end up getting a phone with working GPS but I'd have some of the other problems that folks in this thread are having.
 
^^^^^^^the fix for that is don't use Sprint Nav; Google Nav is what u should hav been using; it doesn't hav anything to do with 2.1 because it was jacked up in 1.5...

I have timed my phone's bootup & it takes exactly 1 minute, sixteen seconds. I guess that is very good if yours is taking 5 - 10 minutes.
 
i have a samsung moment phone from sprint, i recently updated to the 2.1, it's working fine, but i was wondering does anyone know how to use the "livewallpaper"...i will would like to know how to use it on my device, so if anyone would like to tell me how you can reach me at this email vppierre@gmail.com

As Keybeeetsss said, a quick search through this forum will produce all of the info/help you need to get live wallpapers working.
 
Back on-topic, my phone broke off a phone call yesterday so it could receive a text. It also has been repeatedly getting to where when I push End to power it on, and unlock it, the screen will go black and it will go back to the unlock screen, sometimes 5 or 6 times before it finally works. A reboot fixes the problem, but it has not stayed gone.

Anyone else having this issue?
 
Has anyone figured out where the elusive camcorder icon is in the 2.1 factory build from Sprint?. I moved the icon from the third screen to the tray and it is GONE... not in widgets... nuttin, nada zilch... However.... The camera icon is there and I can switch to camcorder just fine once launched but this is really driving my OCD into overdrive... There is mention of a camcorder image in the camera.apk manifest without specifying a specific file or location.
 
Samsung put Nuance, a voice dial aplication on the Moment. With version 1.5 the voice dial worked very good with my Bluetooth headset, now with version 2.1, Nuance activates shows a few names to call then disappears when I tell it yes call So So.
I believe it is the new Android 2.1 update that ruined the Bluetooth voice dial on the Moment or the new voice search that was added conflicts with Nuance.

- Camera preview does not display full scene that is captured in the image, especially noticeable in Google Goggles

-phone is super slow
-auto shutdown/restart for no reason
-does not recognize my sd card half the time
-when I use the stock music player says can't support the songs half the time
-tried to record video and said I need to install sd card (it was already in)
-proxinity seneor is crap & my ear dials 3way when on calls
 
Yeah the proximity sensor is pretty much non-functional in 2.1. And my phone keeps turning itself on in my pocket despite the new lock screen which makes me wonder how my thigh is so nimble

After 2.1 mine turned itself on, snapped a pic of the inside of my pocket, then uploaded the pic to facebook. WTF? :confused: :eek:


Also, I've been sending double texts. Not every time, but enough to be annoying. OK, once was enough...
