Help Contacts not showing up in To: listings

Just got the phone the other day, and love it so far, but its been doing something really weird.

When I go to "New Message" and I put the cursor in the "To:" field and start typing, the name I am looking for does not show up. Example.

I type "Bra"

and it suggests "Brad M.", "Brandon V", but doesn't show "Braden G" and thats the person I want to send the text message to. Same thing happens then I type "Je" and I get "Jessica" but not "Jen".

Why would this be happening? Could it be the way the contacts are set up in Gmail? Or on the phone?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

nobody can tell me why all my contacts don't show up in the list to pick from when i start typing a new message?
