Cover art has me beyond confused

I just joined the android ranks a few weeks back with my Note 2 and love the device and OS. There is one small problem that has me tearing my hair out though. I recently found a program that added cover art to tons of my mp3s that had generic pictures in them, which was great. The issue is while most show correctly on my phone, any song that I had on there before the change shows the old art. I have tried importing them to the phone via snappea, windows drag and drop, and double twist and it is the same issue in google play and the generic music player. I see the correct art in windows but never on the phone itself.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I figured it out and thought I would post the solution here in case anyone else ever runs into it....

I found out that there was system files hidden that somehow were linked to each MP3. These hidden albumart files were in each and ever folder of my music, over 3k of the buggers. I was able to finally delete them all and now I see only the embedded cover art as intended.
