of course after i've downloaded it and figured all of this out for myself I find this article that is sure to sell some newbies over to the launcher pro side

Both are almost equal except for LauncherPro's paid version (PLUS) offering extra widgets and popups, also LauncherPro lets you customize the dockbar and its icons unlike downloading premade themes for ADW.

Also LP Plus offers widget resize on the fly AFTER you place the widget, and up to 15 icon shortcuts in the dock.

One minor correction...LP offers 30 icon shortcuts because you can add a gesture to each icon that can open yet another app.

For example, I have Handcent icon docked, but when I swype over it (instead of clicking it), it opens up my IM app.

So you actually get 30 icon shortcuts in the space of 15
