WOW, you made my day! no matter if it's a long time until it becomes available or if Samsung itself releases Eclair before this one is ready, but I think it's an important milestone, as it clearly states that it IS possible to update the Galaxy even if Samsung decided to lets us standing in the dust.
Good news indeed! I already sent a little donation for GalaxHero, but this certainly deserves another. I was kinda hoping we'd have 2.0 before too long though!
This is very funny, we shouldnt talking like this if we had to do with a serious company. It is good to know that someone is working on it (to share with us) for free.
Not sure how this is going to work, as the kernel seems to be old one and then the baseband RIL layer is proprietary code. Maybe the 1.5 rild and ril.so from Samsung still work on 1.6?
But anyway... Great job. Maybe he gets wifi to work... Than it would be some sort of an "Android Touch" ...

Is exatly what i want to try, but the samsung's 1.5 ril lib are not designed for 1.6, and i'm not sure it can work on...
I'm bored about this buzz, because there is a little, very little chance that we have a quite functionnal 1.6 on our Galaxy. And when i say functionnal, i just want to say that we can phone with it...
