Hi everyone,

I just want to ask if there is an application for Android to play DVD-5 and DVD-9 files?

I need a DVD player (application), is there an application on Android to play DVD's?

If yes, which one please?

If you rip a DVD and put it in the SD card (without any video conversion), then you should be able to play the DVD vob files under VIDEO_TS folder using ArcMedia application.

I just want to know how can you insert a DVD disc in your MobilePhone or portable device? And the method from Usta, I think it doesn't work, because most of DVD discs have copyright protection. You can't copy anything from DVD discs.

Indeed. It is not about playing a DVD disk: it is about playing the DVD content copied in the phone. The copyright is mostly not a problem if you follow the ripping guides.

The thing is though - while you can play just the ripped DVD content (let's say about 4GB), it makes more sense to encode the ripped video to a much smaller size of under 1GB (for example using Handbrake). This process takes longer, but you get more compatibility (H264/MP4) and you can fit at least 4-5 times more videos on the card.

I just move discs lock stock into my server and play 'em like they were discs; It's a viable way to live with storage so cheap now. Playing a whole title set will come along at some point for the droid nation, I'm sure.
