Help Email issue

Hi all,
My email (not Gmail) has worked fine for months, but suddenly I am not receiving notifications of new mail, no sound or new mail in the notifications tab, but when I go to the email widget it is highlighted with the amount of new mail I have, I checked under my email settings and all notifications are ticked, anyone had the same problem?.

Yes I've noticed this too, same checks performed on my phone & all as it should be. Yet texts are working normally with audio notification.
