Help Exchange Activesync Doesn't Notify Me of New Mail

I use Exchange ActiveSync. Most email only arrives in my Inbox when I open the Mail App. I only see the new email notification in the upper left of my home screen about two or three times per day, yet I receive about 100 emails daily.

As a former Blackberry user, I'm used to email moving directly into my Inbox whether I've opened the Mail App or not. I'm also thinking the new email notification should pop up each time new mail arrives, not sporadically.

Any help would be appreciated.

Check to see your phone is set to sync your exchange e-mail on a regular basis.

I'm set up as follows: Settings>Accounts & sync> Auto sync on.

Also: Settings>Accounts & sync> Exchsnge activesync> Schedule "as items arrive"

Is there some other way to get a notification each time mail arrives as opposed to only getting a couple notifications per day?
