Factory Code Unlock - A few Q's

How many attempts are you allowed to enter a code?

Ive read it is 3 but also read somewhere it was a rediculous 250?

Also, when I am trying to enter a code, it tells me its invalid even when entering the 3rd digit, does not give me chance to enter the complete sequence.

Also, does the APN need to be configured before you can enter an unlock code? Is this why its failing or is it just a duff code?

You don't need to set up APN first. Just put a not allowed sim card, then it will ask you to enter unlock code.

I didn't know the G1 devices could be SIM locked?
