Root Failed to Root!!!

I have tried to root my Evo V and it did not work I think the zip was bad because it did not reboot and looking at it it said it could not find md5 and was ignoring it and then at the end it said could not open some side something.zip (bad) no root or nothing.

Phone boots fine I followed the directions from the noob root section, so boot loader is unlocked and recovery was installed but no root.

Does anyone have a copy of the zip that works???

Not sure exactly what file you are wanting, but try downloading it again. It sounds like your download may have gotten corrupted. If they provide you with the MD5 you should download a free checker online and check the file before flashing. Another way to tell sometimes is check online to see how big the file is, and then look on your harddrive and see if the file size is a lot smaller than it should be.

Try downloading super user and see if that fixes it.

OOPs I forgot to mention the file JmzStock_VM_Shooter_Odex.zip 403573KB the download matched after 3 tries.

I down loaded it from JMZ site so I will try contacting JMZ by pm

Well, if you are just trying to flash the rooted stock rom anyway...

Download superSU . Scroll down to the bottom of the first post and download the file called: CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip

Just flash that instead of the stock rom This will essentially be the same thing as you will just be rooting your stock rom.

Thanks do I need clock work mod to do this I have what every gets installed through the newbie root guide.

You should be able to flash it with whatever custom recovery you have on your phone. If you don't have a custom recovery, I'm not sure that the stock recovery can flash it...
