HTC Hero (G2 Touch) firmware currently unavailable on T-Mobile
Hang in there G2 fans, upgrade may not be ready for weeks.
T-Mobile users hoping to download the hotly-anticipated new firmware for the HTC G2 Touch (branded as the HTC Hero by everyone else) have been left frustrated by the network's current lack of support for the upgrade.
The new ROM upgrade promised Hero and G2 users an end to the misery caused by a tedious lag, with the added bonus of touch-to-focus being added to the camera, helping it to achieve its true potential as an iPhone killer.

The upgrade went live on HTC's support site on Wednesday, but T-Mobile are unable to download the upgrade, with the manufacturer telling customers that it no longer supports upgrades for 'branded' handsets forcing T-Mobile to work on its own solution
The customer service reply reads: "The HTC Hero ROM advertised on our support page at www.htc.comHTC - Touch Phone, PDA Phone, Smartphone, Mobile Computer is only available to customers with unbranded devices. Due to testing and rebranding network carriers like to perform on HTC devices and ROMs, you will only be able to acquire the upgrade directly from them."
G2 users are currently going bezerk on the network's support forum, with administrators trying to calm the frenzy by promising that it will make the upgrade available to customers in the coming weeks, when testing is complete.
T-Mobile told T3 this morning that "The upgrade is being tested and when it is ready, we'll issue it to customers."
Help is on the way for G2 users, but with no confirmation of dates, it's simply a waiting game. Hang in there, guys.
