Help Force Stop

Hello everyone! I've been having problems with my voicemail popping up (mostly if my phone is turned back on) without any missed calls. I've checked to make sure there are no vms and Googled and it said to go into the app mngr and clear. I accidentally hit force stop, my Q is: does that just turn off the vm notification period?

Hi,
Go to settings scroll down to sound and notifications tap on this.
Scroll down to notifications>>app notifications tap on this.
From the list select your app and tap to block notifications.
Force stop is not a solution.
When phone restarts this" force stop" will be disabled.
