    I'm new to smartphones and recently got an xperia play.

    I downloaded Asphalt 6 and when I tried playing it, it says it requires 490mb of additional data to be downloaded.

    Is this a normal amount? My data plan is only 500mb a month...

    You should upgrade to an unlimited plan. It will save you money on your bills, not to mention the headaches. But yeah 490mb is normal, some games are small and some large.

    The game will not download without a wifi connection anyway.

    And im sure you have more than 500mb data plan in your home connection.

    The reason they do this is because Gameloft games get billed directly to your phone bill. So they get you to download a small launcher from 3G then the entire game over wi-fi.

    @alboid

    I have 1GB shared data and do not have an unlimited option. 1GB is the largest offered by my service provider.
