Help Gmail Problem

I have looked at posts with gmail sync problems but haven't found one with my problem. My gmail emails get sent to my phone and I can open them, but once I do, they automatically get sent to the trash folder in my actual gmail account. They are no longer in my inbox when I check my gmail on my computer. It doesn't matter whether I delete them from my phone or not, they are all sent to trash. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Uninstall Gmail and download again from the market. Maybe that will help.

I got tired of the little problems with the gmail app. I disabled the gmail app sync and use K9 for my gmail. No more mail problems.
