    Hi folks,

This time I am really stuck.

    HTC desire 2.1

I switch on the 3G and it is connected. I then go to the GMAIL icon/widget and click.

    "Your email will appear shortly."

    Yeah, right.

    It doesn't.

I can't delete the account as the phone says other apps need it.
Strange how that works, but anyway.

When I go into settings/Accounts & sync/google I get an error on the Sync contacts.
There is a little error message at the bottom of the screen:
Sync is currently experincing problmes. It will be back shortly.

    Now, something to mention:
I was in the applications/manage applications and was going through clearing the caches/data stuff.

I accidently cleared both GMAIL and GMAIL STORAGE.
But looking at them both now they are 16.00KB and 48.00KB

It is a bit annoying not having e-mail on the phone.

    Can someone please help me?

    Update:

(I'm getting annoyed with the way the phone tells me there is a problem)

Had 7 Meg of phone memory free.

Removed an app and increased the available memory.

    Now it works.

    Go figure.

Yes, you need to keep internal memory above 15MB (generally although not exact) for emails to be received.
