but not for Jelly Bean??? Am I missing something? SInce when does Google give better features to the enemy?? I can't believe the video I just watched of google speaking answers on iOS. WTH???

cause only apple fan boys get a googly eye'ed over that sort of fluff.

since the 80s, you could keep an apple fan boy busy for months making his appleII say his name, while I spent my time clearing levels in Doom.

Its like dangling a string for a cat, they are just toying with them for their own amusement with a useless toy.

LOL! I thought they spent much of their early and middle years standing in line, trying to be more uber-geeky than the poser standing behind them. :) It's going to be interesting to see how much patience they have with the new and unimproved Apple.

search yes. but the answers arent spoken
This is a Nexus 7 forum and you do have Google Now/Voice search which speaks responses to many searches. When GB comes officially to the Bionic, you will have it there, too. It is available presently if you deodex your ROM and flash the Google Now hack.

I know what forum I am in. I never hear my Nexus seven speak answers to me from Google

Mine absolutely speaks the answers. Maybe you have the voice turned off some how?

One of my iPhone friends stopped by my desk so show me how it worked. He was thrilled and admitted it blew Siri away. He lamented that it couldn't be built in to the home button like Siri is. I told him it can, it's called Android.

It was a good-natured exchange and he took it in the right spirit.

Ask it how tall LeBron James is, what Opera's net worth is, or many other things.

Ask it the score of the Bears game

Ask it when the next time they play is.

I consistently get spoken answers from the above questions

If it returns a fact card it should read it back. If it returns search results it wont. At least that's what I remember... I never use it myself, I feel a bit goofy talking to me tech.
yes, and it seems I never ask "card-worthy" questions. whatever I google seems to result in normal web page results, which give no speech synthesis.

Most 'fact' responses are specific and unique. If you ask 'how tall is the Washington Monument' or '50 milliliters in ounces' there is only one answer, so the response can be stated verbally. Asking what movies are playing in the area would probably bring up a number of websites offering movie info.
