What is the point of the Google search widget? I do want a widget that allows quick link to search but all this does is open a new window and take up room. Anyone know of a 1*1 alternative for home screen? Looked on market but no luck yet.

You could just create a book mark and put it on your home screen

It works for me because I don't use all of my screens. I have like 3 completely blank, so I'm not worried about it "taking up space."
