I must say it does feel real nice in the hand minus the huge security device glued to it.
Some questions:
1) I didn't find anyway to rotate the text on the curved part. For my theoretical use it would be screen up to my left most times and the bottom of the text would be at the bottom of the screen closest to the back of the phone. The way it was displayed it was the bottom of the text closest to the main screen. I guess the idea was to have the screen in landscape for that type of operation but being able to rotate it would rock.
2) On my HTC phone I can block a contact and the phone never rings and it automatically pushes them to voice mail. I didn't see such an option but I was trying to play with it while the salesperson was rambling on about generic "quick facts". I have to be able to block contacts and I imagine Samsung has some sort of way to address this.
3) I found the screen really nice. How many people use full brightness to give an idea of battery longevity? I am tired of having to turn off tons of options to get through the day battery wise. Replaceable battery however seems tasty.
4) The "home" button is a love it or leave it type of an item (very polarizing). I am of the "leave it" and am curious how often it gets inadvertently pushed? This would be stored in my front pants pocket while on the go.
5) All my smart phone career has been HTC. So I have never used a scheduling/Calendar app outside of that. It was easy to hook it up to my gmail schedule. I can assume that the very nice calendar screen that I saw on the demo can be hooked directly into my gmail and is real time interactive?
6) Do you have to purchase software to view MS documents effectively?
I wish I had more time to play with it uninterrupted. I was honest in telling him that I was just there to play and wasn't buying a phone today or this week even. I didn't want to waste his time.
Size doesn't bother me although I am not sure how to really protect the curved part of the screen would happen. Stuff doesnt just break for me; it has to land weird or take a bad bounce and then it breaks. I can't tell you how many times I have "kicked" my phone upon dropping it to make sure my foot took the brunt of the drop versus the floor.
