You don't use the support tool upfront. You have to use the r&d test tool. It will open the support tool and load the kdz. Forget everything about the support tool just open r&d and select the options explained in the above guide I just posted. Ill try to make a video later. Also give yhe comp time to install the drivers in upgrade mode

I've tried this for security error and freezes so I tryed the security error fix method but it didnt work either. What I did was I tried to flash a custom ROM with a locked boot loader. I thought I unlocked it bit I guess it didn't work. Do u have any suggestions on what to do?

wen i try this at first it would always get stuck on 4% then i tried again and it went to 8% but it got stuck again so i tried again and now it doesnt go past 15% can i get any help??? please and thank you

UPDATED: January 22nd

Got my G2 yesterday and I figured out how to unbrick it, which happens to also work for the L9.
I take no credit other than bringing it to you.

1) Download the v10dkdz or v10ekdz

2) Download LG mobile support tool and Install it. (It will open up when its done just CLOSE IT OFF)

3) Download / Install FlashTool (R&D Test Tool) found here. Only download flash tool file.
Directory Listing of //Xda/LG Optimus G Pro/LG Software/ %2F4)

Power off your phone, press Volume Up & and then plug in the usb cable (enter to a download mode/upgrade mode)

5) Extract FlashTool and run UpTestEX.exe

6) In R&D Test Tool window,
Select Type = 3GQCT (top left hand side)
PhoneMode = DIAG (top right hand side)
Select kdz file = click to select your LG stock rom *.kdz
Click "Normal web upgrade test" (bottom right hand side)
Then another window will pop up, click "Upgrade Start" button
wait a few seconds, another window "Select Country & Language" pop up,
=> Country=Republic of Korea
=> Language=English
you can click ok to proceed

7) All Done and wait for finish!

If you changed the hosts file to use offline method previously, you'll have to open up the hosts file using notepad ran as administrator and delete the last two lines you added, save and restart your computer

When i hit the upgrade start button i dont get the pop up of select country & language. Then i hit upgrade recovery and get time elapsed.

So I guess my question would be...is something happening or not?

WHat kind of computer do you have? and what windows? Im having the same issues but ends at time elapsed? ;(

I know, but i never got the option to choose a country after i clicked upgrde start, it just went straight to the homepage of the upgrade tool.

You dont hit upgrade start. Select normal web upgrade at the bottom

Exactly thats where upgrade start is. After you go to normal web upgrade, it says upgrade start.

I have the same problem as swaggyp, I did click normal web upgrade and upgrade start on the r&d test tool but the option for the country does not appear up. Help me.

Have the same problem and i followed everything on the guide and video after i select the options it says on the guide it just opens the R&D tool nothing else doesnt flash anything. Im still trying to figure ou what im doing wrong but any help would be welcomed.

I use windows 7 and have to plug my phone into the back usb port on my laptop. Some kdz files download with a .txt suffix, if so rename it to .kdz as the suffix.

i tried it on the lg support tool it says only wireless upgrades are supported on this phone
