Help Has anyone else's factory fast charger stopped being fast?

It may not actually be the charger, everyone knows that Samsung batteries are finicky.. Try another fast charger and see if there's a difference.

Funny part is, if I reboot the phone, it starts to fast charge. My wife's charger doesn't fast charge at all.
Just started all of a sudden...

Try using a small desktop fan while charging.
I've noticed a decent amount of heat is generated in fast charge mode & over a period of time, even if not at a critical stage for safety,it can't be good for the long-term health of the phone in general.
FWIW,the fast charger for my Note 4 didn't make it 6 months before it needed replacement.

Battery will fast charge at any %. Plug in a different cable other than the one that came with the phone... Turns out, the cables are defective. I had this problem and couldn't figure it out forever until reading mass foruma. Tried multiple diff cables and they all work fine

Fast charging only charges the phone up to 50%. After that your charging as if you were using an ordinary charger. It doesn't fast charge up to 100%. It would fry the battery. The fast charging portion of it cuts off at 50%.

Not so sure about that. I have plugged my phone with more than 50% battery left and it still displayed that it was fast charging.

Thanks for the advice, this worked like a charm on mine and my wife's phone chargers.

Does anyone read anymore? This is from another site

"It comes from the wall plug, which has a Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 chip inside of it that allows the wall plug to send an increased power output until the phone reports reaching a specific charge capacity - i.e. 50% for Samsung. So using the wall charger (and any charging cable) the new Samsung phones will reach 50% charge in 30 minutes. After that they will charge with 2A until the battery is full."

Your phone will say fast charging because it's using a fast charger. But the actual fast charging cuts off at 50%.
