I sent you a private message detailing EVERY single step including rooting your phone if it hasn't been done yet. If you have any trouble feel free to PM me instead of posting in this thread continuously.
 
Launcherpro. They look like classical gases grey text icons, with no dock background. Go to classical-gas.blogspot.com look for grey text icons on the side.
 
What is a good screen capture app? I already tried "screenshot" and couldn't get it to work right.

Or, would it be better to capture screens from a PC?

This is how I have my Ally set up. Using LauncherPro plus widgets, and Fancy Widget for clock. I use 3 docks with custom Icons form LauncherPro Icons, and a custom dock from the same.

I use drocap2. It's free on the market. You open it up, press the start button, hit home key, navigate to the screen you want to capture, and shake the phone to take a screenshot
