How do I open .idx?

The Colornote application backs up files in .idx format. How could you open those files in your computer and read, copy paste and send them?

An idx file is an index file for a database. The actual data is probably being saved in the phone's database, which you can't "send" to anyone. All the information the idx file has is where the information sits in the database file. It's like the address on the envelope. Having that doesn't tell you what's in the letter.

Or they could be subtitle files, if you're talking about video files. You'd need an app written to read them (no one writes apps like that, because the video player apps do the reading). As far as copying and sending them, the same way as any file - long-press to copy, select the file in your email program as an attachment to send it. But unless someone is missing that particular file, sending it to him isn't going to give him anything useable.
