    I actually shapewrite, but it do the same when I swype. I dont like using my index finger cause my hand seems to get in the way. I guess I'm all thumbs :) :) :)

    Depends on the situation, I use my thumb when holding it with one hand, but my index when holding the phone with both hands.

    I have not had to use just my thumb of the hand I am holding the phone with. So I hold with one hand and use the index finger of the other.

    I do the thumb/same hand thing usually, but there's a fair amount of time where I have the phone in my left hand and use my right thumb to Swype, with my right index finger laid across the back of the phone for added support.

    I use the thumb of the hand I am holding the phone with. It gets really irritating when my hands are slightly sweaty and my thumb won't glide across the screen. Swype is pretty much useless when this happens.

    i use the thumb on the hand i am holding the phone because if i wanted to use 2 hands i would just use the sense keyboard... the only time i prefer one or the other is if i am using 1 or 2 hands

    1hand=swype
    2hands=sense

    unless it is on one or the other and i don't feel like changing it to suit a specific situation

    Currently, I swype with ShapeWriter. Finally got the official beta for Swype (e-mail came today), but it doesn't work.

    That's strange. I just signed up today and got the email about a minute later and it works just fine.

    Mine says it is for a different phone. Haven't had time to troubleshoot. I might just stick with SW anyway. Don't want some beta that will keep expiring on me.

    Thumb too clumsy, gotta use opposing index. I've tried a few times to one-hand it, but somehow just can't get it right.

    Update. UnInstalled, restarted phone and downloaded again from the link in my email. It's working fine.
