Root How to install ICARUS 1.1 by Isaacj87

Couple quistions. How do I change themes and change the number of screens with the Home Loader? Are there any similure themes like the green one that is a differant color but otherwise the same?
 
my phone does not connect to my pc any longer..when i plug it up, it only charges...how do i fix this or do i need another phone. my phone is working with sd card but just not with the pc for file transfer....i need help

you can install go launcher ex and have up to 9 screen i believe and far as themes you have to use metamorph or zip themer to install different themes for 2.2:)
 
Well... I read that Icarus is supposed to take five minutes to boot for the first time.

It has been about an hour. Is this normal?

Edit:

I have tried restarting the proccess several times.

I cleared the Boot, System, Data, Cache, and Dalvid Cache.
I also re-downloaded both 1.0 (for metro) and 1.1 and re-flashed using Clockwork

I cannot seem to get past the green android screen.
It seems to keep restarting over and over.

I have waited about an hour after each re-flash.

What did you end up doing? I am on the same thing. This is my 2nd time installing Icarus on a phone. The first time went smoothly, so I decided to put it on my gf's phone.

Edit: I pulled the battery. It's been an hour. Waiting for it to start back up now.
Edit2: Still nothing. Going to pull battery, then SD, then put battery back in without SD and try again.

Edit3: back up and running. 2 phones, both with Icarus. I found a post by Spyder a few pages back in this thread about the infinite boot loop. The info he had was helpful. Thanks.
 
...and I have no a2sd. So, the problem I had was because partitioning the card didnt work. I cannot find the partition on the card. I opened Titanium Backup, and it doesnt show. Any suggestions on what to do next to partition the card, after Icarus is installed?

i just installed icarus 1.1 and partitioned the sd card and now when i try to add music to the sd, windows says i have to format it before i can use it, can someone help? i cant do anything with the sd

did you format it threw recovery? if so what format did you got with.
 
I'm giving Icarus a shot, just to see what it's like. I'm guessing it doesn't come with the T-mobile theme chooser that I really, really, really like.. but the cool thing about all this flashing and ROM-changing is that I can always go back. :p
 
Okay.. actually, I'm stuck. I wiped everything as per normal and I'm trying to install the zip package I downloaded from the post.. But CWM stops it with the message "Please switch to Edify scripting (updater--script and update-binary) to create working up date zip packages." What does this mean? I've never had this problem installing CM7.

..Nevermind, reading earlier posts I realize now that you have to have an older version of CWM in order to flash. ><

to install Icarus you need CWM 2.5.1.8 installed.
 
why downgrade to a less better rom? go with cm6/7 you will love it.

It's my sister's phone. I tried 'fixing' it for her, but she seems to have too much trouble changing from stock, I guess. So I might as well try to go back to something similar to stock that works?

in that case try mine out, its basically the same as icarus but with 2.2 ;)

you need cwm 2xxxx to flash icarus, any other roms you can use any version of cwm recovery.
 
Thanks for the responses. If she ever lets me mess with her phone again I'll tell ya how it goes Lol. Next, to brother's phone! :D
