I have a Verizon Droid X to be delivered in 2 days. I am an IT engineer by trade; yet I have no experience with Android. I wish to use it to its' fullest extent, as well as h@x0r it to its fullest extent. Where do i start my friends?

Ah! I'm the right person to ask. I have a Droid X and love it and I'm a guide here.

Firstly, go to http://www.androidforums.com/motorola-droid-x
There are sub sections there like support and trouble shooting, tips and tricks and rooting (my favorite). Rooting gives you access to your phone beyond what verizon and motorola allow for, giving you the ability to wireless tether (free), overclock (make the processor go faster) and install special roms and themes (changes the look and feel of your system and can make it run smoother, faster and jazzier. I prefer the latter. )

The Droid X is really straightforward to use... if you've had opportunity to use Windows Mobile, Blackberry or Palm OS then you'll have no trouble with Android.
