Hi, does anybody knowif there its a widget that is invisible yet clickable so that I can still see my beautiful wallpaper and still have loads of functionality on my home screen?

You mean inivisible by "no background but there is still text and stuff", or as in truly invisible shortcuts to apps?

I'm looking for a truly invisible widget or app so for instance if I click on the area around an object in the wallpaper like a telephone, so that if I were to touch the telephone in my wallpaper it would take me to my phone app.

There are note taking widgets which are fully transparent.
So without notes they are invisible :)

Long time ago I tried such widgets but a can't remember their names, sorry.

You need Desktop Visualizer, or as suggested before, a launcher that allows you to select a custom app icon. Then a transparent image file needs to be made using photoshop/corel/gimp/whathaveyou. Use that as the icon for the app shortcut you want.

I was going to post this exact same solution! Desktop visualizer ftw.

Thank you chanchan05 that was exactly what I was looking for! Desktop visualizer works perfectly!

How about a solution for the default Android launcher with transparent image for app icon ?

desktop visualizer works on the default launcher a well. Just instal the app then add the dv widget to your home screen and as an icon image use a transparent gif file. I made my own in Photoshop.

Download and try SwipePad. Lets you swipe from either corner on the screen and you can select up to 12 apps. You can have up to 6 swipe points so that is a lot of apps you can get to. And your screen will be empty.

i have that now and i am not happy with it i have tried all of the hot spots and i am not pleased. they always seem to get in my way thanks tho

You can do this using Minimalistic Text:

  • Create a new MT widget, whatever size you want

  • In the widget settings, turn background off or set to transparent. Select "custom layout" and remove all entries from the widget. You now have an invisible widget.

  • Still in widget settings, tick "Start another activity". Use the "Select activity or shortcut" option to choose the function you want to launch when you touch the widget.
I just tried this, selecting the "Phone (launcher)" option under "Activities" -> "Contacts", and the result was an invisible hot spot on my homescreen that would launch the phone dialer if I touched it, which I think is what you are after.
