Help I want to factory reset, still running 2.0.1

Hello all,

I want to factory reset my motorola droid to the original factory settings, SD card and all. I'm still running rooted 2.0.1 and I want the new 2.3. I think I used Sholesmod to root... its hard to remember it was about a year ago. None of the factory pushed updates have ever worked. I get prompted to update and somewhere along the way it fails.

I've searched, but came up relatively empty.

well, you can't get 2.3 yet, but if you go here ---> http://androidforums.com/droid-all-things-root/136508-guide-all-things-root-related.html and follow the guide under this heading --->How to revert back to Stock 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.1, or 2.2.
Use the FRG22 file to flash and that will get you to 2.2 then you should get the FRG83D update to take you 2.2.1. thats the latest from verizon.

P.S. welcome to the forums

Check out this post. It will get you back to factory 2.0.1 and Verizon should push all your updates to you after that. As for the SD, just mount it as storage on your computer and format it. They came blank.

Awesome... I followed the tutorial on the All Things Root guide and that did it. It was pretty painless to do.

I was still running 2.0.1 because I wanted to keep my wifi tether, but I couldn't deal with the constant crashes and freezes.
