I was checking.for updates just now and there was a update available. In the process of downloading it my phone , went to stand by mode when i cut it back on it was stuck at 77%. So i hit cancel to restart it, now it tells me i have to wait 24 hrs to try for this update again. Was the gingerbread update? How do i get my phone to recieve the update without waiting 24 hrs?

actually, excited thinking this was gingerbread...all you have to do is change the date of the phone to the next day and try again. All it updates is the baseband, a small update. A little birdy told me that this phone is not a priority for AT&T, so if you are expecting an update by the end of 2011, if at all...it will be more towards the end of the year. They have other phones to focus on now that externally look the same, and internally are about the same sans a few specs. I can guarantee this phone is not a priority nor a powered by google phone, so don't expect any update to gingerbread at all. They have new cheap Samsung models that will sport gingerbread and look like this phone. I feel like I was mislead and ripped off for a phone that should have come with TouchWiz 4.0 and Android 2.3.4 at the time...that should have been a tip off for me when the other models already had gingerbread back in August. I have been a customer of AT&T since the days of Cingular, I am jumping ship and going with the iPhone 5 on Sprint next month(they are going to be the only to offer unlimited data...loyal AT&T customers will not be grandfathered in this time to an unlimited data plan and will only be able to choose a 4GB($30)/8GB($50) plan (I checked my families phones and their data usage just this month while visiting ranged from 2GIGs for my mom to 32GIGs for my sister, I am at 40GIG because I hookup my phone to the TV and play Netflix and Hulu Plus content when at a friends or even home sometimes and someone is using the SmartTV or PS3). I will eat the small cancellation fee and sell this phone on craigslist for $150 instead of staying with this company and spending twice as much for a service that is pretty poor and will only get worse without the T-Mobile spectrum.

I am sure someone will bring up that they read AT&T promised upgrades to Gingerbread for all by the end of 2011, its not going to happen on this phone...why they released a phone with such old software when they had already had touchwiz 4 and gingerbread going on other models being manufactured right next to the Infuse. They even slashed the budget for promoting this phone early on. On the Android side, they now have the Samsung Galaxy S II phone they want to push. Next time, stay away from any phone that requires the mobile provider and manufacturer to provide updates...it just doesn't happen. Stick with an iOS device or a Google Nexus phone, where the updates are provided by Google itself.

Just downloaded the update and yea, it got stuck at 70%. Idk, I think I'm gonna hold out for the gingerbread update, there aren't any phones that have the 4.5 in screen as of yet. I know christmas holds a slew of new devices however I do believe there will be an update!!
I like my infuse its quirks and all, by the time something comes out that I think I will enjoy, I think I would have personalized my device so much, I wont wanna trade...gingerbread or not...

I like my infuse and plan on sticking with this phone for a while yhere is no reason to go out and get the newest phone 2 mnts later, its not much better , and will only minor improvements. My infuse has not give me one reason to complain about my choice to go with this phone.

I hope it is. Im just waiting to see if the update affects the phone being rooted.

Btw, I notice you have the same issue with random "." When typing, since the period is so close to the space bar when hitting it with your right thumb.

Someone in the know told me that ATT staff hate Infuse owners. They have a dartboard with pictures of Infuse owners. And they have a special song that they sing to make fun of Infuse owners. It is to the tune of The Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Dang that's right of att website?!?! Happy to see my device will in fact be getting gingerbread... it just makes sense to me, I see people with optimus s's and other smaller droid devices... the specs on this thing rock. And personally I think this phone will compete with other dual core devices of the future, I like...

Good luck streaming netflix on sprints network. Just ask evo owners about the 300kbs data speeds if your lucky. I was, one.

    150 for your infuse???
Post it here when your ready to sell it and ill take it.

Btw... Which gingerbread features are you this passionate about?

Thank you. I am having the exact same issue...gets to 80% and stops. I just spent a frustrating 45 minutes on the phone with AT&T, getting to Tier 2 support (hi Brandon if you found this thread as I suggested). He recommended a factory reset which I did not want to do unless I knew it was going to work, given that my phone is not rooted so I'd have a few painful hours in restoring apps as well as my backed up data.

My only concern with waiting for the next upgrade is that it might require this upgrade and there's no guarantee that the next upgrade will fare any better.

Looks like I might be sticking with Froyo until I go to my next phone. ::sigh::

lol...this is not new (it's been up since July 25th)...we have known the infuse would get gingerbread eventually....

and you guys do realize this update, though a precursor to GB, is not GB

the sammy guys are telling me to expect GB around Christmas

I agree it will be sometime around there. There are many problems with the Canadian version on Gingerbread, as I am running Infused 2.1 right now. The problems are like recording video is slow, 4G does not work everywhere where it is available, phone locking if set a passcode and rebooted (luckily I hate having a passcode) etc. The Sammy guys are going to have to fix this, even though there are a few people like Gtg that have made an excellent rom even with these problems.

So has anyone completed the update yet? Does it affect being rooted?

I keep hitting the home button because it says I can't postpone the update any longer.

You can manually change the date forward by one day and try again

My Infuse is rooted (still with stock ROM), and there was no problem getting the update. The rooted status remains ok.

An update... I got the upgrade to work!

I followed the advice upthread to set the date ahead one day so I could check again. And I turned off wifi. That's all it took. Can't remember if I read that here or on XDA but thank you thank you to the person who suggested it.

Nothing seems all that different, but if/when AT&T/Samsung gets around to deploying Gingerbread I'll be ready.

YOU GUYS WANT GINGERBREAD?...Do you know HOW many infuse owners are running gingerbread? probably thousands!!!

Stop sitting around here waiting for the update. Screw AT&T they will never update the infuse and you all know that. Maybe the update will come an era from now, but the point is you can have 2.3.3 GingerBread right this moment!!!

1.root your infuse with modded 3e recovery..all that prelim stuff
    2.get infused2.1 ROM

Ofcourse, my instructions are the vaguest possible. If anyone is interested in getting gingerbread from a completely stock phone, post your response here and i would be glad to make a comprehensive step-by-step guide (making sure you dont screw up your phone in the process. no guarantees, it can happen, it can be fixed).

I tried to update my infuse to gingerbread and it seemed to work but the phone resets all of the time. The biggest problem I was having was that I could make calls but my phone calls would not come through. If someone tried to call me it would hang up on them and it would then show that I had a missed call. I updated the rom via odin. I tried to reinstall the software but all my phone does is get to the home screen and reboots. Any ideas? Maybe your version. I really need precise instructions as I am not really tech savy.

I'm running Gingerbread, and I have been for a while. Here's my current setup:

    ROM: GSInfuse 1.1.9 (Gingerbread 2.3.5)
    Kernel: InfusionGB-CoreA2, (
    user@netboon #Infusion-GB-CoreA

    Modem: UCKK1

I was wondering also that I have been having some issues with my phone signal and At@t said they will swap my phone with a new one. I have gingerbread on my phone right now and I believe that voids the warranty. Do you have any info on how to flash the rom back to Froyo 2.2.1 from 2.3.5?

Any info would be much appreciated
