Help Internal SD card write protected

I have a Att Samsumg captivate with froyo build froyo-uckb2 kernel version 2.6.32.9 build 2.2 i tried to root and was unsuccesful i found a guide to use odin3 and to put kernel ji6 it was supposed to allow the esignature to be read and allow root update.zip to install. The kernel went in perfectly but i still could not use the update.zip file and could not root. I had to take the battery and sim card out and put battery back in while holding volume button to get into download mode now when i try to transfer files to my internel sim it tells me its write protected. How do i remove this? i have tried factory reset it failed please help?

I did notice also that computers see my sd card as a cd rom now not sure if that is pertinent. I will probably try to flash it back to stock firmware to see if that fixes it.

tried to fix the phone and ended up soft bricking could not recover thanks to radio shack for exchanging it and now I think I will leave the mods to those that can.
