Invalid Kernal length, and it won't charge

So, my Samsung galaxy tab a 10.1 decided to not work anymore. Since the tablet's battery died it needs to be constantly plugged in, but it won't actually charge or hold the charge if you understand. Whenever it is plugged the, the screen tries to show the plugged in and charging screen with the percentage, but it starts flashing for some reason. And other times whenever I try to turn it on there are red letters saying "invalid kernel length." After that it will try to boot again but fail and then just not turn on the screen at all. Does anyone have any idea on how I can fix it? Or should I just get a new tablet?

Sounds like the device is rooted. Try a older or newer version of Teamwin recovery.

I haven't rooted my device. I have tried to hard reset it but since the tablet's battery is nearly dead it won't let me.

Just in case anybody else has the same problem, I've written up the solution to this issue.

1. Download your phone firmware from a website like updato.com, sammobile.com, samfrew.com, sfirmware.com, samfw.com.
   Or use a tool like Frija or Samfirm to get the latest, which tend to be a bit faster.
   
   
2. Plug in the USB to a computer while holding both VolUP and VolDown.
   The tablet's screen will turn on in download (Odin) mode.
   
   
3. Download and run the latest version of Odin.
4. Extract the firmware you downloaded and place the BL, AP, CP, and CSC files in their respective slots.
   You can ignore the file that says HOME_CSC if there is one.
   
   
5. When the processes finish, your phone will reboot into Android.

I have the exact same issue on my Galaxy Tab A. The other day I saw a caution/warning ⚠️ sign when I was charging the tablet while turned off. And since then it randomly restarts when being used, and can only be turned back on when plugged in. Battery percentage also fluctuates.

I thought the battery is dead, but I wanna try the solution provided above. I really hope it gets fixed.

Edit: Nvm, flashing stock firmware didn't work. Now it only stays on when plugged in

This all looks really useful... however is there a way to resolve when the tablet has no power and won't charge at all??

I had this issue three times on the same device and fixed it very simply. Just remove back cover and connect bench power supply directly to battery , bypasding charging circuit. 3.5-4V is enough, 10 minutes or so will bring battery level back to recognizeable by charging circuit and then you can use normal USB charger.
Don't allow device to discharge fully if you don't want to repeat procedure again.
Don't know what it has with "wrong id KERNELL LENGTH" error which sounds to me very misleading...
