Help Is %5 percent battery drain an hour horrible for light usage?

I receive and send maybe 6-8 texts an hour and my battery on my BRAND NEW Volt drains %5 percent an hour, location services off, screen brightness at 50 percent, no google now, no apps syncing at all and everything else that drains the battery is turned off, in my battery it says cell standyby is taking up %80 percent of the battery drain, I have 2-3 bars of LTE on boost mobile where I live, is that the culprit or is %5 percent an hour with EXTREMELY little usage normal for a 3,000 MAH battery?

Likely. If you're not using LTE connectivity anyway, just turn off the data connection.
