Root Is it possible to root the phone without a PC?

Hi,

I recently got a Huawei Y300-0100 as a gift until my birthday and I would to root my Vodafone smart first 7 without a PC.

Why do I want to root?

Well too much Vodafone junk comes on the handset and most sounds this device makes are awful. Also it feels like I'm very locked down in the OS.

Is there any apps that work with this device and won't cause the handset to go in a bootloop? I tried Kingroot, iRoot, towelroot and 360 root but no luck! ;(

Can anyone help me? Thanks.

How about just change your launcher and disable the apps you don't like?
No rooting required.
Nova launcher is a start.....
I would but Vodafone put 2 launchers on here by default for some reason and installing a new launcher will just eat up space. Plus, Vodafone decided to put way too bloatware on here. Even though its allowed to be disabled, you'll still run into space issues.
Also, with root I could just customize my device to my liking without any manufacturer restrictions.

You might want to try this method using Framaroot since those other one-click apps weren't working out for you:
http://mobilespecs.net/phone/root/Vodafone/Vodafone_Smart_first_7.html
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/framaroot/root-framaroot-one-click-apk-to-root-t2130276
Note that development for Framaroot ceased quite a while ago so support for it will be spotty at best if you run into a problem.
But any phone with only 4GB of RAM and 512MB of internal storage is seriously starved for system resources in any situation. Even if you are able to root it, set your expectations accordingly. A lot of people mistakenly interpret rooting as a magic fix but it's not. Rooting will give you access to the operating system at a level you didn't have previously, but keep in mind this is a software issue. The most limiting factor about this phone is at the hardware level.

Doesn't framaroot not work on Android 5.0 and higher?

I kinda expected framaroot to not work. Seems like this device is hard to root without a computer which I don't own. -_-

Yes, it's a thing where they made the system and.or bootloader unchangeable so that a reboot sets everything the way it originally was..

I didn't write that article I posted and I'm not assuming its author is lying. Don't have anything running running Lollipop to confirm or deny this either.

Well kingoroot, rootmaster, iRoot and kingroot are well known to put spyware or bloatware on your device. (Just discovered that a few hours ago in Google.)
Yes, most of those one-click rooting apps coming out of China do add in their own spyware services, add their own browser toolbars, etc., that's pretty much a given. But the reality is there a lot of phone models where there are no other rooting options available. At least when you're rooted that also gives you the ability to delete or block those system-level apps/services.
