All they do is text you that sends you to a direct link of the same metro crap that they have in the App Store. Go ahead if you have stock, put it on there and get the same message everyone else gets " Device Already Up To Date"
For those having issues downloading it, here it is..
UpdataOnline0524.apk
Havent had a chance to try it yet though..
It still says phone up to date. Lets face it Metro is just going to keep delaying the 2.2 push because the TapOut was a major failure for their marketing.
If you want 2.2 or anything better you need to go with CM6 or CM7
Oh yeah.. Agreed.. After seeing CM7 I'm hooked.. Had stock for a few days, jumped to icarus, then cm6, then cm7.. Only reason I'd flash stock 2.2 even if it WAS available for us would be to laugh at it..![]()
im still (smh) and wondering why metro is even trying. lol
To be fair, I don't think a company like Metro would announce an update if they didn't have any intention of releasing it. They would have no reason to do that. Metro doesn't do the coding for an update. I believe Huawei is responsible for the hold up. Huawei doesn't seem like an easy company to deal with. We have seen the way they have reacted to our trying to get them to release the code for the 2.2 kernal. They are probably giving Metro the same run-around.I dont think Metro is trying. Thats why they keep blowing us off. If they were trying they would have had an update for us in Febuary like they promised.
I mean i give credit to all the great people that made CM6, and are doing wonderful work on CM7.
Hell if they can do it, why the hell can't metro get it done???

The Ascend 2 and the x5 both look to be vast improvements over the Ascend, but it does make me hesitant to buy their products again if they won't support them. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes. China is a much more secretive business culture and they are probably not used to people demanding their code. But if they want to be in the Android business they better get used to it.
Amen to that. They need to support their customers if they want to stay in business. Simply having an inexpensive product is not going to cut it
