Is the Galaxy Note 2 still worth it?

I tired out the Galaxy Note 2 back in November when it came to AT&T, but I am wondering if the phone is still worth it with the GS4 right around the corner? I loved the phone, but took it back because I missed all the cases my iPhone 5 gave me. I also missed the familiarity iOS gave me. It's now February and I am absolutely SICK of my iPhone 5. I hate every aspect of it. I think making the screen longer was a very, very bad decision. After all this time its still awkward to hold.

I know I will be getting the Galaxy S IV. I will have an upgrade in May. I wanted to buy the Note 2 outright again and sell my iPhone 5 to recoup some of the cost. Does anyone know where the cheapest place to buy a Note 2 off contract is? I would like the AT&T Version (i317) so that I can get LTE, as they have it everywhere here.

I actually love the S Pen and found myself using it a lot when I had the Note 2 a few months ago. I was thinking it would be a good idea to get my back on Android so that when the Galaxy S IV comes around I will be completely familiar with it. I also want to get off this iPhone 5 ASAP. Its just the selling part that worries me.

Thanks

The N2 is the only phone so far I can see myself keeping for the duration of my AT&T contract. Love it!

That sounds like it was not "worth it" then so why would it be "worth it" now.

If you get a Note 2 now, IMO it will still be viable and "worth it" when the Galaxy S IV comes out and would make the Galaxy S IV not "worth it". So why get a Note 2 if you "know you will be getting the Galaxy S IV?

Maybe you can find someone that has a Note 2 that would like to trade for an iPhone 5. I got my Note 2 by trading for a Nexus 4.

Trading my iPhone for a Note 2 doesn't seem like a bad idea.

if the iphone is awkward for you to hold, i doubt you will find happiness with the note 2

I meant the 4" longer screen. I need a wider screen. I actually liked the 3.5" screen.

ah. so wider ISN'T an issue for you--you actually want a wider phone. guess i was confused!

If you're okay with the size then, yes, there isn't really any other phone out now that's in the same class as the Note 2. The S IV will undoubtedly be a great phone and will probably appeal to a lot more people since it'll be a tad smaller than the Note 2. But, for me, screen size was everything which is why I got the Note 2. The specs, battery life are all great on this and I couldn't be happier. Had I gotten the iPhone 5, I'm sure there would've been some Note envy going on. That and the fact i didn't like the iPhone 5 at all made my decision pretty clear.

As there isn't much concrete proof on what the S IV will have in terms of specs, if the Note 2 works for you, get it. Come November of this year, or whenever the Note 3 gets released, I'm gonna have A LOT of Note 3 envy. Perhaps even enough to pawn off my Note 2 to get the Note 3.

yeah, presuming there is a digitizer for a 1080 screen, I'd expect the n3 to be full HD. but even so, I don't notice pixels on my N2 like I do on my Nexus 7--that thing has obvious pixelation.

It's still worth it since you're buying it outright or doing a trade (craigslist folks do these all the time) but not as worth it if you're using your upgrade, which you said you're not, so no worries there. I won't use an upgrade (if I ever go on contract again) unless it's on release day.

I am as happy with my note 2now as I was the day it launched. It is truly an epic phone in many ways. Yes, I'll be getting the s4 when that ships and probably the note 3 too. The nexus 4 is amazing and so is the Droid dna but I find myself always going back to the note 2. Overall imo it is the best for now.

After reading the title of this thread I think we need to start random drug tests for our members.:p

JK..of course this device is still worth it***

*** please note I deserve the right to change my mind once the S4 comes out :vroam:

Well most of you have convinced me. But how much could I get for a one month iPhone 5 32GB factory unlocked in mint condition with accessories?

I hate craigslist because of all the low ball offers!!! ):

I'd say somewhere around $500 easy for your phone. Some phones on eBay are going for $600--$700 dollars as well. Seeing as it's almost new, factory unlocked and a 32GB model, should be rather easy to sell. If you're okay with the fees and such from eBay, that might be your best bet to sell. I wouldn't recommend places like Gazelle since they'll rip you off big time. Your phone on Gazelle is only going for $380:confused: Hell, my iPhone 4 got me more than that when I sold it.
