Help Issues with Lag Fix

Okay, so i am trying to revert back to stock with root.

I followed the steps provided by Ryan at XDA on removing lag fix. But, the file download page is dead. Anyone have a mirror? Or somewhere i can download Odin.exe and the remove lagfix file?

Anyone else having this issue?

What do you want me to do with this? This is just link for the lag fix. i need to revert back to stock and remove lag fix

I beg your pardon? I attached the .zip file that you would have downloaded, which includes "unlagfixme.bat", which you must run to remove the lag fix. Are you seeing something other than this?

No. Let me explain again.

I have that file. Thank you though.

I needed a mirrored file from XDA. I recieved that file from another source. Thanks for helping :)

Which one you need; I probably got it

Oh, okay. Sorry I couldn't help. I do find myself perplexed as to the mirrored file that you're looking for though, as I thought you could remove the lag fix with the file I sent alone..

Yeah he's doing the full system restore just to be on the safe side. On a semi-related note I also un lagfixed this past weekend and I dont really miss it. We think it might block certain operations in CWM; not sure

Correct. After speaking with Koush, we do believe that the LagFix may **may** have a side effect on CWM. This is not verified as of yet.

Gotcha. I guess I should do the same, as I keep hearing about how the lag fix doesn't really do anything and that we should wait for "voodoo port" or something like that.

As we suspected

Yeah the voodoo one is real. Apparently the EXT4's are the shizzle. Quadrant score wont be quite as high as EXT2 [who cares] but genuine lag is gone and snappiness is enhanced....or so say the Captivate guys

I uninstalled the lag fix almost right away. It changed nothing for me and I could see it causing issues down the road.

Yeah many of us here and over in xda are doing it [the un-install]. It definitely has some issues. I will be doing the voodoo lag fix but for now the EXT2 one is too much of a compromise

Long story, but this issue is resolved. Had to revert to a stock image, then root again and re-flash clockwork. But all is well! Thanks to all for your feedback!

I think we might end up linking this thread as a how to and why for many people. Very instructional and educational.
