Help Jelly bean 4.3 update audio issues

Hi guys,

I just updated to 4.3 this morning in UK. While previous issues as reported in various threads seems to have been ironed out, I have found a major issue with my S3. The audio volume seems to have taken a deep plunge, call, music everything. I am sure this is not a fault with the device hardware as things were all okay minutes before the update. The volume output is so low that even at 100% I had to hold the device to my ear to hear the track playing.

Anyone else had the same issues. Any reasons or fixes known to anyone.

I am literally passed off as I use my S3 as my primary music device.

Help guys!

I've seen a few posts on this already - ringer volume linked to media volume, too few steps - the latest 4.3 update has some issues in the audio area.

I don't know why - the original 4.3 release (I recently bought some phones with 4.3 as the original firmware) doesn't have most of the 4.3 problems being reported.

Hi there, nray.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with sound on your device. :(

On the bright side, though, we have lots of knowledgeable folks who can probably help! :) I've moved this thread to the S3 board for better exposure.

I remember an earlier post recommending this:

Go to Settings>My Device>Call>Noise Reduction
if the box for "Suppresses background noise from your side during calls"
is checked, uncheck it.

The audio volume is so bad that I can't use navigation in my car! Can't hear a bit. The update has really been a mess!!
