    I'm using Frostwire (free from the amazon app store) to transfer apks from my Android cell phone to my KF. No need to create a backup first.

    I use dropbox, which is nice and also runs on Linux.

    I only see my two devices. I would assume the same thing you did, but I don't see any other devices.
