Kit Kat Battery Percent

I did try that. I found that my old eyes (even with reading glasses) found it not all that useful. I use an app called BatteryBot to display the percentage in a notification in a far more readable typeface and size.

I use Power Toggles. Since it allows mobile data, wifi, auto-sync, sound and more all in the same toggle bar. There is also an option to put the battery percentage in the status bar.

Edit Note: I'm not on KK yet. But I assume it would work the same.
