Root Latest firmware

not yet, maybe later. when i do, i'll share my experience with them. btw these are some weird firmware numbers, don't you think?

You dont need to test them. one is the official german donut release and the other one cant remember.. but both have nothing new apart from different CSC

edit: oh and the third new one is the israel fw afaik.

I have IK4 on my Galaxy, but I'd like to put the Galaxo 1.6.3.3 ROM. Is it possible from IK4? What are the steps to follow? What if I'd like to come back to stock ROM one day? Possible?
I already downloaded the latest 'recovery' and galaxo 1.6.3.3

Thanks in advance

at the risk of looking like a stupid...how is a Nandroid Backup performed?
I'm seriously thinking about moving from JC6 to Galaxo 1.6.3.3 but I'm not knowledgeable on the Android terminology, so any help would be appreciated

nandroid backup is performed using drakaz's recovery. After flashing this you can find this option in recovery menu by booting your phone in recovery mode(Volume down+make call+end call keys)

thanks!
Anyway, I reverted back to IK4, cos I realised JC6 had no spanish (and my dad has no idea of english or german)

i can share with you guys my experience with a couple of firmwares i tested so far:

XXJB6 - slow and laggy browser and market, phone sometimes restarted by itself after turning on wi-fi
XEJC6 - i got the maps force close problem quite often
XXIH7 - phone sometimes turned itself off and i had to remove the battery and put it back in to turn it on again
XXII5 - my first firmware, i've been using it for months then i started flashing and experimenting. as far as i remember it was stable, no restarts, battery life 3-4 days. after trying other firmwares and seeing how crappy they were i couldn't wait to get back to XXII5 but i couldn't find a ROM that would work with odin so i went for XXII7 which i'm using now
XXII7 - phone sometimes restarts by itself after turning on aeroplane mode (no big deal i guess), but i'm currently using this firmware cause it's the most stable according to me and battery life is quite nice (4 days is not a problem with normal daily usage, e.g. a couple of phonecalls and texts, a little bit of internet and gps, 10-20 minutes of playing games and using other apps)

i cant find i7500xxjb2 to download,i will go to galaxo but for warranty i must have my old baseband so I can later put it on if it brokes.
can someone upload it

I'm still on 1.5... but it's getting annoying how no apps are released for
it any more. For example, update to Google Maps was released today,
works only on 1.6+

So, is there a 1.6 firmware with fixed no-sleep issue? I know that there's
a user made patch, but can I download a 1.6 firmware with no-sleep
integrated somewhere? I don't have the time to root stuff, go to recovery,
flash Galaxo and all that other stuff I have no experience with. I just
want a 1.6 firmware without any obvious bugs.

Latest Galaxo has this patch integrated. And it is easy to install. If you cannot install it, you're better off sticking to 1.5.

For multi-directional rotation you need to install GAOSP. 1.6 firmwares cannot do that.
