Help LED Notification

Pretty stupid oversight to have no led notification. I like it on my D1 and my Yahoo mail app notifies mw with a pink LED so I know it's yahoo. No LED is very iphone like, even the new G4 has no notification.

If you typed the above message from swype you're doing super well
One last post before... ((((sleep))))... saw your entry... You have the luxury of a few more hours being on the West Coast... lol...But... ME... I have to work tomorrow!... but anyway... There is NO WAY that any of these entries have been done on my Galaxy!! All via laptop... haha.... if they were via the phone, you would have seen one, TWO (tops) frustrated sentences...... But put me on my laptop with my "home keys"... lol... lightening fast.... nite, nite

Well, good luck with Swype. I'm liking it, even just plunking the letters. This phone feels ridiculously accurate to me, coming from an Eris especially. When I'm holding the phone and texting two handed, the texts are fast and accurate. For one handed use, Swype certainly wins most of the time. Like I said before though, I'm still practicing getting used to swype. It's not automatic either, but it's very accurate and will only speed up with time.

Back on topic, I uninstalled NoLED. The text puzzle piece lag issue "mysteriously" disappeared. I'm going to give a big fat "NO THANKS" to NoLED.

I'll just deal with checking the screen once in a while.

Seriously, what were (are) the brain surgeons over at Samsung thinking when the left out the most elemental part of a smart phone on this device?

LOL, LED Notifications are hardly the most elemental part of a smart phone. They're convenient, but not a huge issue.

It's just as easy to hit the lock button in most cases. And the lock button is conveniently on the side, not the top, which is why I always say The Fascinate > dRoId X. LOL

If you're happy, we're all happy. But, LED > NoLED. Which is why I need to say again, X >> fAsCiNaTe.

actually you can hit the home button to turn the screen on to see if you have any notifications. no need to reach to the top for the power button..

how about a program to blink the camera flash... Yeah, it would be super bright.. and probably would be a killer if it flashed like all night. But have a setting that says after an hour to only blink on the hour or something like that.

I like the capacitive button blinking idea the best, but I read there isnt an API to control those, but im sure with the flashlight apps that are out, somebody can surely control the camera flash!

If anyone learns of a new app or update that will enable a better notification system using the LED, PLEASE let me know!! I don't understand why its even on the phone if you can't use it efficiently!
Thanks in advance!

HEY! After a week of searching user kganzenmuller over at the motorolla forums figured it out, and I just confirmed the solution myself.

Here is how you get the Droid Bionic LED to work:
1) Do a factory reset clearing out data on phone and sd card
2) When starting to configure the phone again UNCHECK boxes for restoring app settings from Google account (I unchecked both).

Continue with the phone configuration and now LED notifications again work! I still think there is a bug in the system so don't assume changing some setting or installing some app later won't kill the functionality but for now it gets LED notifications back up and working!

Note: Haven't tried all variations of the directions. So it might be possible to accomplish the same results without wiping out your sd card, etc. -not sure.
