Help Major problem with Handcent?

I had the same problem last day. I send a message to person A and then after few minutes to person B. Person B got the message of person A.

Is this a Handcent or android problem?

It's an android problem. Switch back to stock, you'll see the same issues.

Google released updates to all versions of Android that was supposed to have fixed this issue. If you are rooted and running a FroYo ROM, chances are good that you do not have this fix. As almost all the devs have abondoned FroYo and are not concentrated on GB, don't be surprised if you never see this fix.

You will either have to switch to a stock build or GB to get the fix now.

I have had this problem with handcent for over for months, other people receiving text not meant for them, as well as mms being delayed and sent days or even weeks later. Has caused some major problems for me. I've used handcent for a few years, but now..i use gosms,...mannn I'm still mad.

I have had this very same problem and it was very embarrasing to say the least. Had to unistall Handcent unfortunatly. I really liked the app too.

What phone do you have and what version of Android are you running?

It has been proven that this problem was an Android problem and not a Handcent problem. Google fixed this with OTA updates, but if you are still running a version that is not updated, then it can and most likely will happen no matter what messaging app you are using!

Happened to me today on my Verizon Bionic. My system says it is up to date, so if there was an OTA, it didn't fix the issue.

2.3.4 according to my phone information. I have checked system updates and it says I am up to date.

This just happened to me except in the message to person A I mentioned person B and it was sent to person B. Apparently they BOTH received it. That was the last straw, aside from handcent freezing up and unexpectedly quitting all the time, i thought it was an awesome app until today.
