Help Make android music quality better? poweramp?

I have Just switched from my ipod to my new LG Motion 4g (ICS) for listening to music. The one the thing i miss the most about my ipod is the sound quality. When i listen to music on my android, using poweramp, i still feel like their is something missing. Like a missing drum beat or the bass.
What are the frequencies for the ipod? Can i adjust the frequencies to sound like an ipod using the Poweramp EQ settings? What do the numbers on the poweramp eq represent?
PLEASE HELP ME IMPROVE MY SOUND QUALITY

Don't want to insult your intelligence, but I have to ask the obvious question first: have you tried playing with the Equaliser settings? Could just be that you need to crank up the base a bit, if that's how you like your music.

Assuming that's not it, then sound quality is generally more to do with the earphones and how the track was ripped.

If you've re-ripped the music for your Motion, you may have taken the quality setting down too low. Try re-ripping with a setting somewhere closer to loss less.

If you're listening to the same sound files (if that's even possible moving from an iPod - don't know anything about things Apple), then it may be the earphones.

Are you using the earphones that came with the phone or the same earphones you used with the iPod?

Generally speaking, earphones that get bundled with anything are dire - the ones that come with iPods are famously cr*p. You don't have to pay too much to get something that sounds way better.

Unfortunately, getting earphones with a mic and controls that work with Androids is more of a struggle. For some inexplicable reason, Google hasn't set a standard for earphone controls so even earphones that work fine with one Droid may not work with another.

Most people end up getting phones with a single button which lets you end calls and skip tracks.

Not the earpods that come with the new devices

I too find the sound quality of the Motion lacking in comparison to an Ipod. I have a six year old Ipod classic and for some reason it just sounds better and I can't explain why it does sound better. I'm using the same mp3 files with the same headphones too. I played with some EQ settings with the stock player and with PowerAmp. I just decided to stick with my Ipod for music. Though I do enjoy listening to Pandora on my phone every now and then since variety is the spice of life (or so they say).

Wow! We have the exact same story. I can't explain how it sounds better on the ipod, Im using the same earphones, the same mp3 files, and I'm using poweramp. I toggled with with poweramp eq. I found it better to set the preset to flat and just to turn up the bass and treble knobs. Its the closest solution I have come to.
I want to switch back to my ipod for listening to music for the crisp sound quality, but I can't because it dies too fast and I was running out of space for my new songs.
Even though this didn't solve my problem, I want to thank you for your input :)

Well if you are rooted, you have a couple choices. Acid sound mod, xloud for the phone speaker, pimp my beats equalizer, Sony walkman with clear bass or if you want, try out cm10. It has an amazing audio effects option.
