Help Messaging question

this is probably a stupid question, but on the motorola droid what does the little icon mean next to a text that has a little red clock on it? i can't find it anywhere. also, is there a way to see if someone recieved a text message? on my other verizon phones i could.... it showed a little check mark

Yeah, the clock next to it means it is sending. If it does not send then it will show a red envelope or something like that. And it will also alert you that it did not send. But if shows the clock and then it says "sent at (whatever time)" then that indicated that it sent
