Root MetroPCS rejection

I hope I'm posting this in the right area.

Today I called MetroPCS about flashing my Evo 4G to their network. The rep at the store told me that I needed to visit one of their corporate stores ... so I did.

When I arrived and showed them my phone (it wasn't even on), the guy behind the counter was already shaking his head no before I even asked my question. I told him that I wanted my phone flashed and he told me that it couldn't be done and instead directed me toward purchasing a flashed phone on Craigslist or buying one of their phones.

I'm trying to save my wallet from further being raped by Sprint and having to buy a new phone was not the answer I was hoping to hear. Besides that, I'm really attached to my Evo and the closest thing I found at MetroPCS was the LG Esteem for $349.00 and I feel it's not worth it, plus it's not in my budget right now.

I've read about many people on AF who flashed their Evos from Sprint to MetroPCS and I would really like to be a part of that crowd. Do I still have a chance or am I just screwed with Sprint and their continuous screwing?

End of rant.

U need to find a authorized dealer (not a metropcs store) that can add your phones esn to their network. Metro stores don't do this even though they advertise they do. But authorized dealers can. Some anyways. Price may vary since the store can charge whatever they want to for it. But one you have it flashed with talk and text, you can follow the programming guide and you'll be good to go.

There are also people on eBay and craigslist that can suposably do it without you even bringing it in or however they do it. But I would be weary or that route and best avoid that way all together.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah, I noticed that MetroPCS advertised that they do flashing but don't live up to it yet continue with the false advertising. Now I'm starting to wonder if they lie to their customers about other things too.

I don't trust sending my phone to anyone I've never met so Ebay and Craigslist will definitely be avoided by me.
